Do you still have to use a fax machine for work?
As organisations move to the NBN, they have two choices about what to do with their fax machine:
- Migrate it across using unreliable adapters to try and extend the service for a little bit longer, or
- Replace all fax communication with emails.
Our preference is always to change work systems to make better use of email services, however some businesses don’t have that option due to third parties still requiring them to submit forms via fax (thanks again Centrelink). In addition to this, old fax machines sometimes struggle adapting to the new technology of the NBN.
This is where fax-to-email services come in very useful! They allow organisations to continue using fax services – without having to use an actual fax machine. Brilliant!
Why would you use a fax-to-email service?
A fax-to-email service sends and receives all faxes through an email inbox that you nominate. It is a simple cost-effective solution that allows you to remove old hardware and costly line rentals, and phase out the use of a dead technology.
For as little as $9.95 per month, you can send 20 faxes per month and receive up to 130 – all from within your email client. Plus you can cancel the service whenever you want!
Sending and receiving faxes via email is a very simple process:
- Scan in the document that you want to send
- Attach the scanned PDF to an email
- Add the relevant details in the Subject line of the email
- Send the email to <destinationfaxnumber>@faxtoemailservice.com.
One of the only downsides to consider with a fax-to-email service is that you may not be able to use your existing fax number, although that is not an issue if you only need to send faxes.
Will a fax-to-email service work for your business?
A fax-to-email service gives you a reliable, cost-effective way of continuing to use old fax technology if required. Eaglecrest Technologies have seen fax-to-email services save time and money for financial planners, medical centres and other organisations that deal regularly with government agencies.
