Bringing the Zoo to you
It goes without saying that the COVID-19 pandemic has reassured us all how important technology is in maintaining connectedness. We’ve seen some fabulous examples of businesses pivoting in such a short period of time to building websites, offering video calls to show customers through stock or delivering goods to door steps with over-the-phone payments, but the temporary closure of businesses that can't operate through a website or video chat have encountered bigger challenges. These businesses rely purely on the public physically visiting their site, which undoubtedly has caused angst for many, wondering how they can continue to deliver their service in a way that’s safe and accessible.
When we heard Tasmania Zoo like many other local attractions were forced to close their doors temporarily, we wanted to help. We had a solution that despite no visitors for a few months, would allow the general public to enjoy the Tasmania Zoo experience that brings a smile to the faces of many Tasmanians and beyond. We supplied cameras and wireless links to enable live streaming of the animals at the Zoo, with the common marmosets, meerkats and caracals keeping everyone entertained from their Facebook feeds at home.
Thanks to the wonderful team at Tasmania Zoo for trusting us to “bring the Zoo to you.”
