We’ve touched on VR and it’s importance in education previously, but since the COVID-19 outbreak leading to a higher demand for healthcare workers and paused training for medical students, this technological advancement has become a fantastic, accessible tool for many in America.
Our partners at HP have been involved in this process. HP’s global lead for virtual reality in healthcare, Mary Kate Mahoney, says that HP has worked alongside partners to “develop complete training solutions that work on a variety of platforms, getting crucial education where it’s needed most.”
The demand for healthcare workers equipped with the necessary emergency response skills to deal with the pandemic has increased. With this many have turned to VR for education on learning and re-learning how to respond in emergency situations and for more simple skills like the correct application on personal protective equipment (PPE).
